GEORGE TOWN — Premier of Cayman Islands, Alden McLaughlin last night submitted his resignation letter to Governor Helen Kilpatrick.
In the letter which was chanced upon by our news desk, Mr. McLaughlin indicated he is stepping down for personal reasons.
Our checks reveal the Premier has resigned to avoid an impending corruption allegation connected to Smith Cove sale which the Premier earlier in October said at the time the current PPM administration took office it was no longer on the table as part of the potential land swap.
His resignation letter is yet to be accepted by the Governor.
