Rio de Janeiro – Although South Africa’s sprinter Akani Simbine could not win a medal in the men’s 100m final, he will still walk home with no other medal than the ultimate, Gold.

According to Bolt, Akani’s morale at in dressing room gave him every meaning to win the race which was keenly contested. “I urged him to try his best to win and promised him if it falls my way, I will still honor him with the” Bolt said. It is reported that, the 2 athletes have had a very good rapport and has been one of the closest athletes to Usain Bolt over his Jamaican compatriots.

Bolt beat rivals American Justin Gatlin (9.89), Canadian Andre De Grasse (9.91) and Yohan Blake finished, who finished fourth in 9.93. Akani Simbine was 5th with 9.94 seconds.
